1/2 cup wild rice [Starch/Grain]
1/2 stick butter/margarine [Dairy]
1/4 cup flour [Starch/Grain]
2 cups milk [Dairy]
1 cup chicken boullion [Dry Goods / Spices]
ham or chicken [Meat]
sharp cheddar cheese, shredded [Dairy]
fine grated carrotts [Vegetable]
Recipe Directions:
Put wild rice in pot, add water to 1 inch above rice. Boil. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, until rice pops open a little. Melt margarine in separate pot. Add flour and bring to boil. Stir in warmed milk briskly. Bring to a boil again. Whisk in chicken boullion, keep stirring until thicker. Add meat and all other ingredients.
